The Lawai‘a (fisherman) ‘Ohana Camp’s purpose is to provide youth and family members with the opportunity to learn about sustainable approaches to preserving and managing Hawai‘i’s marine life through in-class and hands-on training experiences, as well as to learn about mauka-makai resource relationships and management. Kalaemano, within the ahupua‘a of Ka‘ūpūlehu, is a historical fishing area.
