Master Navigator Mau Piailug passed away Sunday Night, July 11th, 2010. Uncle was 78 years old, and is credited with the revival of traditional navigation, used today by the navigators for the Hokulea and the Makalii. Born in micronesia on the island of Satawai, Mau traveled all over the pacific, navigating by the stars, and training others at the same time.
